On April 25th, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation named HARZAND, the first ship of the 93,000 cubic meter very large liquefied gas carrier (VLGC) built by PETREDEC, and it is scheduled to be delivered on April 26.

The 93,000 cubic meter VLGC is the fourth-generation VLGC boutique ship type (Panda 93P) independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding. This type of ship has a total length of 230 meters, a molded width of 36.6 meters, and a service speed of 16.5 knots. It adopts the fourth-generation patented line (VS-Bow MK-IV), which can be used under full load, ballast and liquid cargo loading conditions of different specific gravity. Has excellent, well-balanced performance.

This type of ship is a typical "three-high" (high-tech, high-difficulty, high-value-added) ship type in today's global shipbuilding market, and has been monopolized and technically blocked by Japanese and Korean shipbuilding companies for a long time. In order to break this situation, after more than ten years of painstaking research, Jiangnan Shipbuilding has realized the continuous innovation of VLGC research and development, design and construction, which has filled the historical gap in the field of VLGC in China's shipbuilding industry and greatly enhanced China's VLGC field. The right to speak has formed a "China Jiangnan type" VLGC brand with independent intellectual property rights.

The 93,000 cubic meter VLGC is currently the largest VLGC ship type in the world. Compared with the same type of products at home and abroad, it has a strong competitive advantage in terms of ship performance: it is the first time to apply the self-developed and innovatively designed rudder ball energy-saving device technology, which makes the ship fast It is leading the international advanced level; it is the first time to realize the national production of low-temperature steel, which greatly shortens the procurement cycle; the capacity of the ship’s liquid cargo tank is upgraded, and the net weight of the structure is only increased by 250 tons, which can ensure the overall hoisting of the liquid tank; the fuel range reaches 23,000 nautical miles. The level of fuel consumption and gas consumption leads the international level; it meets the latest NOx TierIII and SOx emission requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and also meets the emission requirements of EEDI3. Although it is the "first child", the construction team of the ship still made many breakthroughs and set a new record: it realized the first "three-in-one" sea trial in the history of Jiangnan Shipbuilding in the history of liquefied gas ship construction, that is, conventional sea trial, gas sea trial and Gas testing is done in one go, meaning the ship is ready for operation upon delivery.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding named this type of ship after the national treasure Panda, and called it "PANDA 83P/84P/86P/93P" according to its loading capacity. After continuous development in recent years, VLGC ship type has become the main ship type of Jiangnan Shipbuilding The brand is widely recognized and praised by mainstream shipowners at home and abroad in the international market. Since the breakthrough of the first order in 2012, a total of 52 orders have been accepted, including 18 orders for 93,000 cubic meter ships. At present, Jiangnan Shipbuilding has a global market share of 24.7% in the field of VLGC ships, leading the world VLGC market.
